John Berton

John Berton is Co-Founder at Georgian, which he co-founded in 2008. John sits on the firm’s Investment Committee and oversees Capital Formation (Fundraising, Strategic Products (co-invest, SPV’s etc), Capital Management and LP relations) as well as the legal, financial functions for the firm.

Prior to Georgian, John spent five years as CEO running a high-growth software company and five years at a merchant banking firm where he was responsible for winning and accelerating a broad range of investments.

John received his Chartered Financial Analyst designation in 1998 and was previously on the Board of the Canadian Venture Capital Association. John holds a BSc from Queen's University and a degree in Computer Science from the University of Calgary.
