
Steve Leightell
PartnerSteve Leightell is a Partner on Georgian's Investment Team, where he focuses on identifying and supporting teams building companies poised to become market leaders. Since joining Georgian in 2008 alongside the co-founders, Steve has had a key role in shaping the firm's investment strategy and culture.
With over 20 years of software industry experience, Steve has led 13 Growth Fund investments and is recognized for his focus on cybersecurity. He has led Georgian's investments in companies such as Cyera, Island, Armis, Siemplify (exited), Chainguard, Eon and Flashpoint (exited). Steve also represents Georgian as a board director or board observer for several portfolio companies.
Prior to Georgian, Steve was a Sales Leader at IBM, where he led a global team responsible for major systems integrator partnerships. Before IBM, he led the channels and alliances team at DWL, working closely with Georgian's co-founders and playing a significant role in developing DWL's strategic relationship with IBM, which culminated in IBM's acquisition of DWL in 2005. Steve's career also includes progressive roles at AT&T/Allstream, Netcom, and PSINet, where he built deep expertise in channels, alliances, and M&A within the broader technology and internet sectors.
